Helix 40m band

use thin wire to make shorter

40m & 10m

got small helix inside to adjust desire center freq. & lower SWR

Last night, i went dal's house to finish this antenna using his antenna analyzer..after got the resonants & lower SWR..willing to test it soon..
This morning (around 00:00 utc), try to call at 40m with 25w during mobile..suddenly, heard GET but very weak signal..may be because of propagation not really open..normally by this time propagation for 80m quiet open..so, no wonder a lot noise come in..may be can test again at another suitable time..anyway, pse pick up my call when i calling CQ 40..
See u down the log soon

Anyhow, tnx fer nice QSO, nice QSL Card & nice present..i will keep it for my collections..

What is our ultimate??

It's really hard to say, what is our ultimate in this kind of hobby..if we look at one insight, those of them may be like to talk like 'coffee shop' one but if we look in widesight, we will find a lot of things in this hobby which is it's will not ever forever end..i'm not sure whether this things are correct or not..many friends from class B (9w's) especially, doesn't know they can operate at HF (6m & 10m) too..they only know can operate at VHF/UHF only..may be because of the minded or really don't know or not exposes with amateur radio..when talk about HF, those fellows will say too expensive to buy a HF rig..come on my dear, this is only one-off u buy then..
This a lot of things i would like share, what kind of our ultimate? it is a USD 1? QSL card? or talk like 'coffee shop'? etc..many point of view can allocate in this hobby..in HF especially, it's more thrill & fun..HF, thrill is fun..exactly, when propagation is good..u can hear & call from/to any stations..it's more fun..fun with thrill & thrill is fun..
One more things are what our end products? are we willing only talk, talk & talk like at 'coffee shop'..finally, what is the end product? QSL card? maybe..satisfy? may be..enjoy? may be..so, think it deeply..how long u were in amateur radio..until now, 'what is my end product'?
Let's my friends, we move one step up..operate at HF..u will saticfaction..more enjoyable when operate at lower frequency..a lot stations outside there waiting ur call..so, please go ahead..i'm really sure, when u operate in HF, u will never turning back..but don't forget where u are come before..

HF Mobile QSO

This is the video show my QSO with 9M6JC (John) & 9M6TMT (Tom)..the worse things are i'm record with DEAF handphone..so, just video no audio..hi hi..what i want to share here is even when we are in mobile, then the propagation is open..it's not possible for us to get contact from any stations..this time i was mobile with speed 50-60km/h because heavy traffic at early morning to my workplace..both of them copy me 59+20db..my RF Power is 35w all the way..very fantastic/excited when this QSO happened..with this lousy homebrew antenna..quiet suprise us the results..may be after this i will record again QSO during mobile with my new handphone..huhu..not deaf one..

hope can work with u one day from my mobile station..

Mobile Station worked

Hi all!! Finally i have done to fullfill my wish to set up hf mobile station at my old car..hi hi..thanks to DAL for your hand..as per mentioned before my rig is FT-857D+FC-30 & the antenna is homebrew vertical helix type monoband..for me, it's quiet challenges me to make this antenna tuned & resonant..swr meter show 1.2:1 at 14.206mhz..the rest i'm using my FC-30 to make it tuned..furthermore, i'm using capasitor to get resonant & matchings..very fantastic copy at rx side..at tx side, i have done with Japan station, he copy me 55, my power is 50w & at that time i was mobile with speed around 50km/h..so far, i have done only 1 antenna for 20m band..now still under constructions for 10m & 40m..figures at below are my set up..

early FT-8800R
now FT-857D
CPU FT-857D + FC-30 under driver seat

Homebrew vertical antenna helix type monoband (20m)

Homebrew helix & Diamond SG-7500 (vhf/uhf)

EME

EME is stand for Earth-Moon-Earth communications, as known as Moon Bounce..normally, hams do this communication at 2m & 6m band & using at least 4 stack with 7ele yagi..the output power will be use at least 200w for get fair reflective from moon..2m & 6m yagi more small rather than other band like 10m or 20m..so better go for 2m..much smaller..when the operator was transmitting to the moon, the audio will reflect within not exceed than 2.5sec..very fast..may be one day, i will try this mode with my friends here..hi hi..i found quite alot stations QRV at this mode..it's was very interesting & need to be try..may be have stations have try this mode..& u are please to share here..

Simplex Operations

Simplex Operations meant two-way communications by using same frequency at one time..it's also called Half-duplex communications..it's because only one person can talk at one time, after finish the transmission then other person can talk..thats the cycle-continuously..beside that, simplex operation also work at FM, SSB, CW mode also PSK-31..in HF especially, Simplex operation are use because when propagation is good, the signal can go far..it's more attractive..some fading (QSB) can be happen, when our location are in skip zone..it's can be manage, when u do some homework or experiment or listen the signal even QSB but sometimes if luck beside u, suddenly, u can copy the audio..it's may be the F2 layer have move up or down..or maybe the take off angle from that station..anything can be happen..so, try your best to get the best..
